The Virginia Association of Orthodontists is non-profit organization and is one of the 11 southern states that is a component of the Southern Association of Orthodontists and American Association of Orthodontists. Founded in 1961, the VAO has approximately 274 active and retired members.
The purposes of our organization are:
- To advance the art and science of orthodontics,
- To encourage and sponsor research,
- To strive for optimal standards of excellence in orthodontic education and practice, and
- To make significant contributions to the dental health of the public.
